It's the little things....

....that make me smile :)
God's LOVE surrounds us all; We just have to seek it.
Make a wish; I already made mine.
Do it daily.

Heritage Village : Train Station

I took a lil trip over to Heritage Village in Largo, FL today for a little adventure. This 21 acre outdoor historic museum is free to the public and offers many hands on history lessons and stories by local individuals; many of which are volunteers. Heritage Village has 28 historic buildings and features dating from the 19th century. To view more photos from this train station shoot check out my iPhone FLICKr Photostream. More photos from my little Heritage Village adventure are coming soon, stay tuned.

Tidd-Bit Bout Lil Ol' Me

Hello friends, fellow bloggers and visitors from a far! I'm Jennifer but my friends call me JFlow. At this moment I am 27 years young and living in beautiful sunny Florida, although it is currently raining.  My current 9-5 is an awesome position as a marketing director. My passion is my art. I started off  in high school shooting 35mm film and manipulating photos in Photoshop, which quickly sparked my interest in digital design. Recently in the past few years I've gotten into digital SLR photography shooting mostly glamor style photos. [Love my Canon] I edit my photography in Photoshop CS5 and I have created a unique editing style for myself over the years. I love bringing out the vibrant, rich colors and soft skin tones in my photos. To date, my work has satisfied many clients, helped market numerous local businesses and has been published in several Tampa Bay area magazines, as well as, other printed and on-line publications.

As you have seen in my last 2 post, I shoot a lot with my Apple iPhone. Over the last year I have gained quite the fan base and won several online award recognitions for some of my iPhone Photography. All of my iPhone photography is actually shot and edited on the Apple iPhone.  Some photos were shot with the iPhone 3GS and recently I purchased the iPhone4 [Best camera on a cell phone by far]. I am addicted to shooting on my iPhone... I shoot photos on it every single day. The iPhone has made me a better photographer as it has made me look for photos where ever I go. A man by the name of Chase Jarvis [Thank you Clinton Lee for linking me to his site] opened my eyes and got me shooting with my iPhone. He created the Best Camera App for the Apple iPhone which I use to edit a lot of my iPhone photos directly on my phone.  I love his quote.... "The best camera is the one that's with you." Down Town Charlie Brown

Photo above shot on the Apple iPhone4.
St. Petersburg Pier as I've known it my entire life....
This pier has been the heart of our city since 1973 too bad the city is getting ready to tear it down.
Time to rebuild!

:::History of the St. Petersburg Pier:::

The history of St. Petersburg piers is as extensive as the city itself. The tale begins three years before the city’s inaugural incorporation in 1892 when the Railroad Pier was built in 1889 by the Orange Belt Railway. This first privately owned pier was an immediate attraction for tourists and locals. The famous Electric Pier, on Second Avenue North, was erected in 1906 and boasted an elaborate design. The privately owned pier extended 3,000 feet into the bay. This pier was well known for its dramatic night lighting and was demolished in 1914. The Hurricane of 1921 played a significant role in the development of the existing pier structures, destroying all the standing piers.

The world famous Million Dollar Pier lived up to its legacy when it opened in 1926. The Million Dollar Pier was dedicated on Thanksgiving Day in 1926, with ceremonies attended by more than 10,000 people. The Mediterranean-revival casino style building featured a central atrium, an open-air ballroom with terrazzo floors on the rooftop and an observation deck.

However, in late 1967, the 40-year-old, badly deteriorated building was demolished. A park was established temporarily while the present day pier was being constructed. The inverted pyramid pier that stands today has become a landmark in itself. Owned by the City of St. Petersburg, The Pier opened its doors in January 1973. Today it continues its legacy as a centerpiece of St. Petersburg’s downtown waterfront with five stories of shopping, dining and adventure.
 Demolition Begins 2013 :(
Here are some photos shot & edited on my Apple iPhone4 from a quick trip to the St. Petersburg Pier in my hometown; beautiful downtown St. Pete!
